# GENERATEID

generates unique ID with prefix and random suffix

## signature

```
GENERATEID([prefix], [length])
```

returns: `text` · volatile — recomputes on every evaluation

## arguments

- prefix: text — optional
- length: number — optional

## usage

- `=GENERATEID()`
- `=GENERATEID("ID-", 12)`

## errors

error values observed from the engine — each with a call that produces it.
