# deepcalc Privacy Policy

what we collect, why, where it is stored, your workbook data and your rights.

## what we collect

When you use deepcalc, we collect basic information to make the service work:

- Account info: email and name (from Google sign-in), payment details (via Stripe).
- Workbook data: cells, formulas, files you import, and the journal of every change.
- API and agent activity: API keys and request metadata (endpoint, timing, status).
- Usage data: pages you visit, actions you take.
- Device info: browser type, general location (country/city).

## why we collect it

- Provide the service (store and calculate workbooks, branches, review).
- Improve the product (understand what works, fix bugs).
- Prevent abuse and enforce quotas.
- Communicate with you (support, billing, significant changes).

Legal basis: contractual necessity (providing the service you signed up for) and legitimate interest (improving the product, abuse prevention).

## where data is stored

We use Cloudflare infrastructure for hosting and storage, with our database in the EU (Ireland). Calculation jobs run on Modal.

Payment data is handled by Stripe and never stored on our servers.

Sign-in uses Google OAuth — we receive your name and email, never your password.

## your workbooks

You control your workbooks and choose who can see them. If you make a workbook public, others can view and fork it — forks made while it was public belong to their owners.

Deleting a workbook deletes its data and journal history.

## data retention

- Account data: kept while your account is active.
- Workbook data and journal history: kept until you delete the workbook.
- Deleted workbooks and closed accounts: purged within 30 days.
- Payment records: kept as required by law (typically 7 years for tax purposes).

## your rights (GDPR)

If you're in the EU, you have these rights:

- Access: request a copy of your data.
- Deletion: delete your account and associated data.
- Correction: fix incorrect information.
- Objection: object to certain data processing.
- Portability: export your workbooks.

## cookies

We use minimal cookies:

- Authentication: keep you logged in (essential, no consent needed).
- No tracking cookies, no third-party advertising cookies.

## changes

We may update this policy. Major changes will be announced via email to active users.
