Is the Mac app free? Yes. It has no account and no purchase.

Where do my files live? On your Mac, where you keep them. The app opens and saves .xlsx and .csv files in place and keeps the original before the first save.

Will Excel and Numbers open my files? Yes. They stay ordinary .xlsx files, comments included.

How do I use it with Claude Code? Settings › Agents in the Mac app. Agents reach the app on your Mac only.
